Honored Artist of the RSFSR. He studied with the artist N.N. Gusachenko. In 1940 he entered the Kharkov Art School. In 1946-1952. studied at the Academy of Arts under M.N. Avilova. After graduation, he was enrolled in graduate school under the guidance of A. Gerasimov. Since 1954, member of the Union of Artists. Regular participant of all-Union, republican and regional exhibitions. He worked in the genre of historical painting. In 1956 he created the first work from the “Taman March” series. He taught at the Academy of Arts in the workshop of Professor I.A. Silver. The artist’s works are in the State Russian Museum and in many regional museums.
