Sleta Petr Dorofeevich (1911-1974)

Soviet painter. Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR. He received his initial art education at a school in Lozovaya. In 1932 he entered the Kharkov Art Institute. In 1934 he went to study at the Kyiv Art Institute, in the class of the painter F. Krichevsky. During the Second World War he was the main artist of the front and worked in a front-line newspaper. The best works are kept in many museums in Ukraine, Russia and private collections.
