Smirnov Viktor Ivanovich was born in the city of Gus-Khrustalny, Vladimir region. An artist is a painter. Member of the Union of Artists of Russia since 1973. Corresponding member of the Petrovsky Academy of Sciences and Arts since 2001. Full member of the Petrovsky Academy of Sciences and Arts since 2003. He graduated from the Vladimir Art School in 1949. His teachers were famous masters of painting - F. N. Zakharov, S. S. Preobrazhensky and professor of the Academy of Arts, Master of Art History N. P. Sychev. Creative activity began in 1951. A bright representative of the Vladimir school of painting. The art of V. Smirnova was constantly in contact with the art of such artists as V. Ya. Yukin, K. N. Britov, V. Egorov, N. Mokrova. From the perspective of the development of modern Vladimir painting, the work of V. Smirnov occupies a very special and very important place. It reunites the genre with landscapes, a tribute to which will later be paid by many masters of the Vladimir school of painting. He improves the art of portraiture. The heroes of the paintings are people close to him. The historical genre occupies an important place in creativity. V. Smirnov was brought up on the great heritage of Russian art, and the basis of his work is realism. The object of sincere love is also the landscape. His lyrical landscapes are poetic. The object of his sincere affection is his native places (Lubenkino, Suzdal and Vladimir Territory).
