N.V. Soloviev was born in the city of Verny (since 1921 - Alma-Ata). He studied at the Vernensky Teachers' Seminary, attended the art studio of Nikolai Gavrilovich Khludov, whose student was the classic of Soviet art Semyon Chuikov. In the pre-war years, N. Soloviev created illustrations for medical brochures and posters for the People's Commissariat of Health. In parallel with his artistic activities, he became a soloist of the Philharmonic, and during the Great Patriotic War, as part of a front-line brigade of artists, he went to the front. Returning to Alma-Ata, he served in the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Border Troops. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Since 1951 he taught at the Alma-Ata Art School named after N.V. Gogol. Participant of republican, zonal, all-Union exhibitions. The works are in the Central Border Museum of the FSB of Russia, the State Museum of Art of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and in private collections.
