Starov Vladimir Georgievich (1925, Smolensk - 2013, St. Petersburg).

Schedule. People's Artist of the Russian Federation, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, member of the Petrovsky Academy of Sciences and Arts, honorary member of the Smolensk organization of the Union of Artists of Russia, professor of the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after. I.E. Repina. Graduated from the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture.  I.E. Repin (1959). Famous works: a series of color linocuts "1941-1945" (1958-1959), "Admiralty" (1964), "Sailors of the Baltic" (1965), "Populists" (1969), "Paris Commune" (1970-1971), "Rural Life" (1973-1975), "Decembrists" (1975), “The 19th century - the 20th century” (1966-1994), “Peace on planet Earth” (1983-1984), “My poor Rus'” (1989-2003), variations on Shakespeare’s themes in the cycle “Two” (2001-2002). Starov V.G. took part in major art exhibitions. His works are kept in museums in Russia and Europe.
