Stepanov Klavdiy Petrovich (1854 – 1910).

Prominent Moscow monarchist, editor of the newspaper Moskovsky Voice, employee of Moskovskie Vedomosti. The artist founded an icon painting school at the Donskoy Monastery. All the wall paintings in the temple-tomb of Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich at the Chudov Monastery in the Moscow Kremlin belonged to his brush. He painted mostly small paintings, mainly with Renaissance figures. In 1888 he received the title of class artist of the 1st degree from the Academy of Arts.
