Stoilov Konstantin

Bulgarian by origin. In the 1880s he studied at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. He became famous as the author of works depicting horses, hunting and racing scenes. He also painted genre paintings, developing the theme of the military life of the Cossacks. The artist's paintings and drawings were reproduced in magazines of the 1890s and 1900s. The artist's works are in European museums and private collections. His compositions with horses are in great demand on the antique market. Many works are kept in the South African collection of Georgy Bibikov, a representative of an old noble family and a descendant of Russian emigrants.
