Sudbinin (Golovastikov) Serafim Nikolaevich

A Russian theater actor, sculptor, and ceramic artist. He was a student and friend of Auguste Rodin. He worked primarily as a portraitist and created small-scale porcelain sculptures. He was a member of and exhibitor at the Salon d'Automne and the Union of Russian Artists. He exhibited his work at the National Society of Fine Arts in Paris, the S. K. Makovsky Salon, and exhibitions of Russian art in Paris and Berlin. He participated in the 12th Venice Biennale in 1920. Sudbinin’s works are held in numerous museum collections, including the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, the A. A. Bakhrushin State Central Theatre Museum, the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris, the Ceramics Museum in Sèvres, and others.
