Suetin Nikolay Mikhailovich

Suetin Nikolai Mikhailovich (1897, Kaluga province - 1954, Leningrad).

Painter, graphic artist, porcelain artist, graphic artist, poster artist, designer. He studied at the People's Art School in Vitebsk (1918-1922) with K.S. Malevich. Member of the UNOVIS group (Approvers of the new art, 1920-1922). In 1922, together with K.S. Malevich moved to Petrograd. Participated in the work of GINKHUK (1923-1926). Worked at the State Porcelain Factory named after. M.V. Lomonosov. Artistic director of the plant from 1932 to 1952. He developed sketches for new forms of porcelain, including using motifs from his own Suprematist compositions. In 1927 - 1930 worked in the experimental laboratory of the Institute of Art History. He was engaged in design, decorated the USSR pavilions at the World Exhibitions in Paris (1937) and New York (1939). Well-known critic and theorist of the avant-garde of the 1920s – 1930s.
