Sukhov Vladimir Dmitrievich (1865 - 1958)

A notable Moscow artist of the late 19th - early 20th centuries. Portrait painter, genre painter, painted landscapes. He studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. He participated in exhibitions of the Moscow Society of Art Lovers (MOLKh, 1889-1906, with interruptions), the St. Petersburg Society of Artists (1896-1897), and the Association of Itinerants (as an exhibitor at 20 (1892) and 32 (1904) exhibitions). Member of the Molkh. He was a member of the "Group of Artists" (exhibitions 1908-11), the Moscow Art Circle (exhibition 1918). From 1888 to 1900s taught at the Stroganov School of Art and Industry, where he taught head and full-scale classes (in particular, P. Konchalovsky studied with him). In the 1890s he taught drawing in Sunday classes organized by the Ministry of Education and Science. A kind, "strong" professional. Now his works are in the Irkutsk and Tyumen art museums.
