Suteev Vladimir Grigorievich (1903, Moscow - 1993, Moscow).

Honored Artist of the RSFSR. Children's writer, artist, one of the founders of Soviet animation, screenwriter and director. As an illustrator from his youth, he was published in the magazines “Pioneer”, “Murzilka”, “Friendly Guys”, “Iskorka”, and in the newspaper “Pionerskaya Pravda”. Since 1947 he worked in Detgiz. Since 1923 he illustrated books for children. Among his most famous works are illustrations for the works of K. Chukovsky and S. Marshak. In 1928 he graduated from the Institute of Cinematography, from 1936 he worked as a director at the Soyuzmultfilm film studio, where more than 30 films were created, some of which (“Peter and Little Red Riding Hood”, “The Magic Shop”, “When the Christmas Trees Light Up”) were awarded international awards. Illustrated books by V.G. Suteev's works were published in many countries of the world (Norway, France, USA, Mexico, Czechoslovakia, Japan) and are classics of not only Soviet but also world children's literature.
