Famous Soviet photojournalist. In the 1930s he became a photojournalist for the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper. He photographs industry, agriculture, sports, everyday life, Soviet youth, the Red Army. During the Great Patriotic War, Shagin worked as a military photojournalist, filming from the first to the last day - from the announcement of the German attack on the Soviet Union and work in the rear to the signing of the surrender in Berlin in May 1945. After the end of the war he continued to work at Komsomolskaya Pravda. His works were published in the magazines Ogonyok and Smena.
