Shagin Vladimir Nikolaevich

Shagin Vladimir Nikolaevich (1932, Leningrad - 1999, St. Petersburg).

Painter. Belonged to a group of Leningrad nonconformist artists at the turn of the 1950s and 60s. (“Arefyev circle”). Studied at the Academy of Arts. He was expelled for "formalism". Personal exhibitions took place in Leningrad-Petersburg (1981, 1999, 2000). The works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, and the Pompidou Center in Paris.
