Shalyapin Fedor Ivanovich

Chaliapin Fedor Ivanovich (1873, Kazan - 1938, Paris).

Russian singer (bass), People's Artist (1918). One of the greatest representatives of the Russian vocal school. Born into the family of a clerical employee. In his youth he sang in the bishop's choir, was fond of theater, and participated in drama and opera as an extra.
