He graduated from the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Leningrad in 1939. He worked in front-line brigades during the war. For many years he taught at art schools in Leningrad. Participant of many regional and zonal exhibitions. The artist's works are kept in the Museum of the History of Leningrad and the Military History Museum of the city.
