Shibanov Evgeniy Nikolaevich

In 1963 he graduated from the Gorky Art School. Since 1975, member of the Union of Artists of Russia. In the 1960s he worked at the Ulyanovsk Experimental Mechanical Plant as a designer. In the 1970-80s he participated in the implementation of “social orders” (portraits of leading production workers, thematic paintings). Works of this period were published in thematic albums, in the magazines "Creativity" and "Artist". Since the late 1960s, he has taken part in all regional, zonal and all-Union exhibitions. A new period of the artist’s creativity began in 1989, after leaving for the village of Molvino, Terengulsky district, Ulyanovsk region. Art critic Tatyana Stadler, in an article in the album “Evgeny Shibanov,” defines the direction in which the artist is currently working as “grotesque realism.” Winner of the A.A. Plastov Prize. Personal exhibitions were held in Ulyanovsk, Samara and Kazan. The works are in the collections of the Ulyanovsk and Samara regional art museums.
