Born in 1939 in the village of Pestrovka, Penza region. He received his special education at the Penza Art School named after K.A. Savitsky, from which he graduated in 1968. In 1996, the artist’s first personal exhibition was held at the Penza Art Gallery. Paintings by A.V.Shirmanov are in the Penza Art Gallery, in private collections in Russia and abroad: Italy, France, Japan.
