Soviet artist, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (since 1960). People's Artist of Ukraine (2009). Laureate of the Chernigov Regional Prize named after M. Kotsyubinsky (1996). Anatoly Nikiforovich is a participant in art exhibitions: republican - since 1954, all-Union - since 1961. Held many personal exhibitions. Works by A.N. Shkurko's works are represented in the Chernigov Art Museum, galleries and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
