Shmarinov Alexey Dementievich (born 1933)

Schedule. People's Artist of Russia, laureate of the State Prize of the RSFSR, academician of the Russian Academy of Arts. Exhibitions were held with great success in Germany, Austria, France, the Czech Republic, the USA and other countries. He is the winner of the prize named after the German collector Peter Ludwig. In 2004 he was awarded the prestigious international award “Golden Laurel” (Austria) for his contribution to art. Author of the famous series of engravings “Heroes of the Russian people of the XIII-XV centuries”. Among the masterpieces created by Shmarinov are book illustrations and engravings for the works of Sh. Rustaveli and M. Prishvin. The artist's works are in the collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, and the Pushkin Museum. A.S. Pushkin, the Institute of Russian Realistic Art, the largest Russian and foreign private collections.
