Schreiber Vasily Pavlovich

Schreiber Vasily Pavlovich (1850–1905).

Painter, graphic artist, decorative and applied arts artist. He studied at the Revel Classical Gymnasium, then at the Imperial Academy of Arts (1879–1883). During his years of study, he was awarded a small silver medal three times, as well as a large silver medal. He lived in St. Petersburg, and in Italy from 1886–1888. Since 1883, he was engaged in decorative painting - making lampshades and decorative panels in private houses in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Samara, as well as churches. He painted landscapes and genre paintings; worked a lot in watercolor technique. Traveled around Italy and France. Participated in exhibitions in the halls of the Imperial Academy of Arts (1886, 1888), the St. Petersburg Society of Artists. Since 1888, he taught porcelain painting at the Drawing School of the Society for the Encouragement of the Arts.
