The Russian painter is a realist. He studied in K. J. Kryzhitsky's drawing class at the Academy of Fine Arts; A. I. Kuindzhi also influenced the formation of the artistic style. In addition, Schultze was guided by the style of the Swiss painter A. Kalam. Before the revolution, from 1906 to 1916, Schultze's works participated in regular exhibitions of the Academy of Arts and the Association of Artists in St. Petersburg and Moscow, as well as in exhibitions of the Kryzhitsky Memorial Society. After emigrating in 1922, the artist held a solo exhibition in Paris, where about 50 works were presented. In 1923 and 1924, his works were exhibited at the 136th and 137th Paris Spring Salons, and until 1925 he held annual solo exhibitions with the Gerard Gallery. In 1927, an exhibition was held in London, and in the late 1920s, works were shown in the United States — in New York and Chicago.; Schultze's works are represented in the State Museum of the Arctic and Antarctic (St. Petersburg), the Alexander Koenig Museum (Bonn, Germany), the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the Hillwood Museum (Washington, USA; works from the collection of banker Jule Simon Baich), the Museum of Fine Arts (Montreal, Canada). The artist's works are also in private collections in the USA, Canada, Europe and Russia; among the pre—revolutionary owners of his works are members of the imperial family (Mikhail Alexandrovich, Grigory Mikhailovich), jeweler Carl Faberge and researcher Alexander Koenig.
