It was founded in 1790 by noblewoman Maria Maltsova. Having bought the Dyatkovo lands, she builds a crystal factory and several glass factories. The plant began to produce highly artistic crystal with a masterfully thin diamond cut and products with color. In 1798, the enterprise was transferred to his son Ivan Maltsov, under whom an entire industrial empire was created in Russia: factories were opened in the Oryol, Smolensk, and Kaluga regions. In 1849, control of this empire passed to his son S.I. Maltsov. For the first time in the history of Russian industry, he built gas-generating furnaces at the Dyatkovo plant, began producing glass called “copper ruby,” and brewed uranium glass.
