Founded in 1835 by merchant Mikhail Savinovich Kornilov and his brothers. From the very beginning of its activity, the plant focused not on mass production, but on the quality of workmanship, especially painting. In 1843, the plant received the honorary title “Supplier of the Imperial Court.” Kornilov porcelain has become widely known not only in Russia, but also abroad. By the middle of the 19th century, the Kornilov brothers' factory was one of the leading enterprises in the Russian porcelain industry. The plant's products were exhibited in the 19th – early 20th centuries at national and international industrial exhibitions. In 1917, the Kornilov brothers' plant was nationalized.
