Gorodnitsky Porcelain Factory is the largest enterprise that has been operating for three centuries: from the 18th to the beginning of the 21st century. The factory produced high-quality porcelain, which was presented at many international exhibitions and fairs. The Gorodnitsa porcelain factory was founded in 1799. Before the revolution, the factory was resold several times. In 1917, it was leased to businessman A. Zasuman, who expanded production and, in addition to tableware, also launched decorative and applied items. Along with painting porcelain, such a popular technique as decal is used. In 1923-1924, the Gorodnitsky plant became part of the All-Ukrainian Trust “Porcelain-faience-glass”, and it was renamed the plant named after. Comintern. The leading direction of the 1920s -1930s. years remains sculptural plastic. Tankers, pilots, pioneers, milkmaids, and collective farmers became popular characters. The leading master sculptors were R. Marchuk, Yu. Gavrilyuk. The most famous works of R. Marchuk are figures of children playing and animals. In the 1940s, the leading artists of the plant were O. Kryzhanovsky, Z. Mosiychuk, T. Kryzhanovskaya. Masters create genre and animalistic sculpture. The post-war years were marked by an even greater variety of products and an expansion of the scope of small and large plastics. Russian traditions prevail in the painting of products; the colorful palette pleases with the brightness of colors. The theme of national literature and fairy tales also gives artists free rein to their imagination, allowing them to create vivid images: “Taras Bulba”, “Crucian carp” and “Odarka” (author Shcherbina) The Rooster is a favorite character. This bright, colorful character also appears in the picturesque paintings of sets and vases, and appears in well-aimed plastic art. Among the decorative items of the plant there are cutlery made in the form of figures. The most popular were the “Rooster Decanter”, a set of shot glasses and the “Pisces” Decanter. The factory's products have their own original style, which is always noted by critics at international exhibitions.
