Russian sculptor of the pre-revolutionary era. He studied at a military gymnasium. Then he decided to devote his life to art and in 1874 he entered the Academy of Arts, where he studied with some interruptions until 1885. From 1886 he worked as a drawing teacher at the Imperial Theater School. In 1888 he was appointed as a sculptor under the directorate of the Imperial Theatres, where he also led a prop workshop.
