Russian animal sculptor, collegiate assessor. Honorary free fellow of the Academy of Arts (1876). In 1872, for his work, he received the title of class artist of the 1st degree from the Academy of Arts. Since 1879 he became a member of the Moscow Society of Art Lovers. The sculptor's works are presented in the State Russian Museum, the State Tretyakov Gallery and other museums, as well as in private collections.
