Helle Martinovna Põld (Käjar)

Helle Martinovna Põld (Käjar) (1928–1987).

Art glass artist. Member of the USSR Union of Artists. She graduated from the State Art Institute of the Estonian SSR in 1953. From 1953 to 1956, she taught at the Department of Glass and Ceramics at the V. I. Mukhina Leningrad Higher School of Art and Industry. She worked as a master engraver starting in 1956 and as an artist from 1960 at the Leningrad Art Glass Factory (LZKhS). She created floor lamps, dinner and tea sets, flower vases, water sets, goblets, wine glasses, beer mugs, ashtrays, cigarette holders, and souvenir items. She became a member of the USSR Union of Artists in 1959. She was awarded a bronze medal at the USSR Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy (VDNKh) in 1960. In 1961, she participated in a special art glass exhibition in Moscow organized by the USSR Union of Artists (exhibiting the vase titled "Mexico"). Her works are held in the collections of the All-Russian Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Art (VMDPNI), the Yelagin Island Palace-Museum, and others.
