Kozhin Pavel Mikhailovich (1904 - 1975)

Soviet sculptor, graphic artist, animal painter. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR (1935). Participant of numerous exhibitions, winner of the gold medal at the exhibition in Paris in 1937. Leading artist at the Dulevo Porcelain Factory since 1938. Teacher at the Moscow Higher Art and Industrial School since 1962. In 1926 - 1931 he studied at the VKHUTEIN at the ceramics department. In 1932 - 1933 he worked as head of the laboratory of the Research Institute of the Art Industry of the Ministry of Local Industry. From the late 1920s, he began working at the Konakovo faience factory, where he produced exhibition works and samples for mass production. In 1938 he went to work at the Dulevo factory, where he began working on porcelain sculpture. In the 1950s he created works for the Riga Porcelain and Earthenware Factory. The author's works are in the collection of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the All-Russian Museum of Decorative Arts, as well as in private collections.
