Foundry "Vagranka"

In 1922, during the NEP reforms, the Hammer and Sickle artel became the successor to the foundry production of the Kamensk State Plant. The people simply christened the new enterprise “Cupola.” The main activity was the production of small agricultural implements, stove and tableware castings. From the first days of the Great Patriotic War, the Hammer and Sickle artel became an iron foundry - one of the thousands of numbered enterprises of the People's Commissariat of Ammunition that produced cast iron blanks for hand grenades and industrial castings for factories evacuated to the Urals. The plant began to engage in artistic casting on the initiative of Drozdov in 1949. The first minter was A. Ustyantsev, the moulder was V.F. Soloviev. The factory's craftsmen cast a series of monumental castings. Monuments to Petropavlovsky and academician-chemist Kuzmin. In Yekaterinburg, a factory-made fountain “Stone Flower” was installed according to the design of the architect P. Demintsev. In the 1960s, a monument to Hero of the Soviet Union G.P. was erected. Kunavin, made according to the design of the sculptor Egorov by masters of artistic casting V. Kotlovanov and I. Vasiliev.
