Founded in 1883, the workshop under the direction of Dmitry Lukich Smirnov specialized in the production of tableware and church utensils. In 1912, the Workshop received the title of Supplier to the Imperial Court. Products from D. L. Smirnov's Workshop are in the collections of the State Historical Museum, the State Armory Chamber, the State Hermitage Museum, and in private collections.
