Volkov’s V.V. Studio

Valentin Viktorovich Volkov (1881–1964). A Belarusian artist and People's Artist of Belarus (1955). He designed the coat of arms of the BSSR (1926 and 1938). He began participating in art exhibitions in 1903. His work encompassed thematic paintings, portraits, landscapes, and still lifes. Valentin Volkov came from a family of Russian artists from the Oryol Governorate. In 1907, he graduated from the Penza Art School and subsequently enrolled in the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. He participated in All-Union exhibitions. His works are held in numerous regional museums and private collections.
