Soviet painter and muralist. Member of the Leningrad Union of Artists. From 1948 to 1955, he studied at the Mukhina Leningrad Higher School of Art and Industry in the department of monumental and decorative painting. Since 1955, he has regularly participated in city, national, and international exhibitions. From 1955 to 1959, he worked as an art restorer at the State Hermitage Museum. In the 1950s and 1960s, he taught in the general painting department of the Mukhina Leningrad Higher School of Art and Industry. Solo exhibitions of Shablykin's work were shown in Leningrad (1976) and Nyandoma (1986). His works are held in museums and private collections in Russia and abroad.
