Slonim Ilya Lvovich (1906 - 1973)

Soviet sculptor. In 1924-1929 he studied at VKHUTEMAS-VKHUTEIN under the guidance of I.S. Efimov and I.M. Chaikov. In 1931 he became a candidate for the Society of Russian Sculptors. He worked a lot in the portrait genre, creating images of his contemporaries: D.D. Shostakovich, R.R. Falka, S.V. Obraztsova, S.S. Prokofieva, V.B. Shklovsky, I.G. Erenburg, A.A. Akhmatova and others. In 1934-1935 he worked at the Konakovo faience factory. Since the 1950s, he also began working with materials such as wood and marble.
