Soviet sculptor. In 1938 - 1940 he studied at the Odessa Art School. In 1947 he graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. I.E. Repin (workshop of Professor A.T. Matveev). Since 1948 - member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. In the 1950s, he began collaborating with the Leningrad Porcelain Factory (LZFI). Based on his models, a famous series of works on the theme of ballet was created (“The Dying Swan”, “Ballerina with a Flower”, “Shurale”, “Spanish Dance”). In the 1960-1980s, Vladimir Sychev was engaged in monumental sculpture. Over several decades of active creative activity, he created over 300 works in bronze, granite and marble. Among the author’s works are high reliefs and bas-reliefs at the Frunzenskaya, Narvskaya and Ploshchad Vosstaniya metro stations. Monuments and memorial works of Vladimir Sychev were installed in many cities in Russia and the CIS countries.
