A center for the production of furniture in the “Russian style”, which appeared at the end of the 19th century in a small village in the Smolensk region of Talashkino. The head of the workshops at first was S.V. Malyutin, and later - A.P. Zinoviev. Artists M.A. worked on furniture projects for these workshops. Vrubel, N.K. Roerich, V.M. Vasnetsov, K.A. Korovin. The furniture produced here was characterized by poetic fairy-tale motifs, floral patterns, and fantastic images of birds. By 1905, the Talashkino workshops ceased their activities.
