Tripolskaya Elizaveta Rodionovna (1881-1958)

Sculptor. In 1896, she graduated from the Poltava Institute of Noble Maidens with a silver medal. Since childhood, I have sculpted small figures of peasants from clay. Since 1897, she has been studying plastic art, first in the workshops of sculptors L. Sherwood, V. Beklemishev and R. Bach, then at the St. Petersburg Art School of the Society for the Encouragement of Artists. In 1918, the artist made her first works in majolica, which would later run like a red thread through all of Tripolskaya’s work. Later she graduated from the Leningrad Higher Art and Technical Institute. From 1929, for several years, Tripolskaya worked at the Dmitrov Porcelain Factory, where she created samples of sculptures on modern themes. Almost all of Tripolskaya’s works were completed by her at the Dmitrovsky factory, with the exception of only a few created for the Leningrad porcelain factory during her student years.
