Factory M.S. Kuznetsov in Riga was founded in 1843, initially it was the Livland branch of the Kuznetsov Family Partnership, the largest Russian enterprise for the production of porcelain, earthenware and majolica. In the first years, the factory produced exclusively earthenware products, but since 1851 it also began producing porcelain. During Soviet times, the Riga Porcelain and Earthenware Factory operated on the basis of the former Kuznetsov factory. In the early 1990s, the plant was closed.
