Russian Soviet illustrator. He studied at the Petrograd VKHUTEMAS (1921-24). Since 1924 participant of exhibitions. He worked in the experimental lithographic workshop of the Leningrad Region of the USSR, in the Children's Department of the State Institute of Art in Leningrad under the leadership of V. Lebedev. In 1944-46 - in the artistic editorial office of the State Publishing House of Estonia, later returned to Leningrad. He was a master at drawing equipment and all kinds of machines. Collaborated with thirty magazines. He illustrated both fiction (about travel and geographical discoveries) and popular science literature (about airplanes, ships, cars) - about one hundred and fifty publications in total. He created several dozen “author’s” books.
