Tikhomirov Leonid Petrovich (1925 - 2016)

Painter. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Honored Artist of Russia, full member of the International Academy "Creativity". The artist’s landscapes refer to the best traditions of Russian realistic painting of the mid-19th-20th centuries, the desire to reveal the very essence of natural phenomena. His legacy today enriches modern culture with art that has long been familiar and extremely understandable to all. Creativity of L.P. Tikhomirov is extremely stable. He strictly and consistently adheres to the national tradition, drawing inspiration both from nature and from the art of his predecessors: the Wanderers and painters of the Union of Russian Artists. His landscapes and portraits are widely known, including the portrait of the ballerina Galina Ulanova.
