Son of the artist Thomas Miles Richardson. Thomas left Newcastle in 1843 and moved to London, where he was elected a member of the Society of Watercolor Painters. His colorful watercolors of Northern England and Scottish mountain landscapes, as well as his picturesque panoramas of Italy and Switzerland, were very popular. In 1851 he became a real exhibitor in this institution. He took part in exhibitions since 1851. The author's works are kept in many major museums around the world.
