Tvelkmeyer Viktor Fyodorovich

Soviet architect. In 1926 he graduated from the Higher Art and Technical Institute in Leningrad. In 1944-1947 - rector of the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.E. Repin. Author of works on the history and theory of architecture. In the 1930s - 1950s, his articles on artists were published in the magazines "Architecture of Leningrad", "Architecture and Construction of Leningrad". Among the most significant implemented projects of Tvelkmeyer: Syassky Pulp and Paper Mill named after comrade. Stalin, as well as the House of Culture and the Nursery at the plant (1929), the Milk Processing Plant in Leningrad on the territory of the Cattle Drive Yard (1932), the Government House of the Abkhaz SSR (1933), and the Vyborg District Sound Cinema with 1,300 seats in Leningrad (1933).
