Ulyanov Nikolay Pavlovich

Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1932). Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Arts. Laureate of the USSR State Prize in 1948. Studied at N.V. school. Meshkova in Moscow, in the MUZHVZ (1889-1902) with N.V. Nevreva, I.M. Pryanishnikova, V.A. Serova. Member of the MTH (1902-1912), SRH (1903-1929), ASSOCIATIONS “World of Art” (1906-1921), “Fire-Color” (1925), “Four Arts” (1926-1929), AHRR (1925). Made trips to Italy, France, Germany. Painter, graphic artist, theater artist, worked in the historical-portrait genre. Author of memoirs, essays, poems, dramatic sketches. He taught at the Central Agricultural University (1915-1918), at the State Agricultural Academy-VKHUTEMAS (1918-1922), at the Prechistensky Practical Institute (1920), at the Moscow State Art Institute named after. V.I. Surikov (1942-1945). Personal exhibitions of N.P. Ulyanov took place in Dresden (1905), in Moscow (1926, 1929, 1951, 1961, 1965, 1975), in Leningrad (1978). The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Pushkin Museum. A.S. Pushkin, in the State Russian Museum, in many regional museums.
