Umansky Samuil Obramovich

Famous Ukrainian satirist artist. He studied at Odeysk (1904-07) and Kiev (1907-12) art schools. In 1912-18 he studied painting at a gymnasium in Stavropol. In 1922, Umansky moved to Kharkov, where he worked for the newspaper “Proletary”, and from 1942 until his death - for the magazine “Peretz”. Today, the artist’s works occupy places in the exhibitions and collections of museums, galleries and private collections in Ukraine, Russia, Europe, and America.
