Uzbyakov Yuri Nikolaevich

Soviet graphic artist, cartoonist, postcard artist. The first cartoon was published in the March issue of Crocodile magazine in 1932. Graduated from Moscow State Academy of Arts named after V.I. Surikov. He drew cartoons for the magazines “Lapot”, “Physical Education and Sports”, “Atheist”, “Ogonyok”, “Crocodile”. After the Great Patriotic War, during which the artist drew for a front-line newspaper, he became a recognized master of Soviet caricature. With the release of the children's humor magazine “Funny Pictures”, he became its regular author. He was a participant in many exhibitions of Soviet caricature (both here and abroad). Author of illustrations for books by K. Chukovsky, S. Marshak, A. Barto, S. Mikhalkov.
