Varlamov Alexey Grigorievich (born 1920, Galich, Kostroma region - 2000, Nizhny Novgorod).

People's Artist of Russia. Honored Artist of the RSFSR (since 1969). He studied at the Gorky Art School (1935 - 1940) with A.V. Samsonova, L.A. Khnygina. . Participant of exhibitions since 1940. Personal exhibitions were held in 1970 (Gorky); in 1991 (N. Novgorod). Varlamov's works were sold at many European auctions. His works are in many museum collections and private collections.
