Freelance student of the Academy of Arts. In 1851 he received the title of non-class artist, in 1858 - the title of academician. He painted icons for churches in St. Petersburg, Warsaw, Florence, and Nice. In 1875-1878. published the magazine “Sketches of Architecture and Art Industry” in St. Petersburg and drew ornaments for it. The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, in many regional museums, as well as in private collections in Russia and abroad.
