Vatolina Nina Nikolaevna

Famous Soviet artist. Nina Nikolaevna gained wide popularity in our country and abroad thanks to many years of work in the field of poster graphics. Having become one of the young Soviet poster artists in the pre-war years, she created hundreds of sheets, many of which deservedly entered the golden fund of Russian art. An artist of high pictorial culture, brought up in the best traditions of the domestic art school of the 1930s, Nina Nikolaevna Vatolina brilliantly demonstrated her talent in easel painting and graphics. Main works: “Don't talk!” (1941), “Five-Year Plan in Four Years” (1947), “Glory to the Soviet People” (1953), etc. Personal exhibitions were held in 1957 and 1968. in Moscow. Vatolina’s works are kept in many museums in Russia and abroad, as well as in private galleries and collections. During the Great Patriotic War, Vatolina actively and selflessly became involved in work on propaganda art for the masses; she is the author, in co-authorship with her husband, Nikolai Denisov, of the world famous poster “Don’t talk!” (1941), which has survived decades, has acquired new meaning and a second life in our days.
