Vereisky Orest Georgievich (1915-1993).

From 1936 to 1938 he studied at the Leningrad Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. I.E. Repina. In 1939 he graduated from the Leningrad Institute for Advanced Studies of Arts Workers. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. People's Artist of the USSR. Corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Arts. In 1958 he received a gold medal at the International Art Exhibition, Brussels. In 1977 he received a silver medal at the International Exhibition of Book Art, Leipzig (GDR). Since 1978 - laureate of the USSR State Prize in the field of art. In 1981 he received an honorary medal at the Biennale of Illustration in Bratislava. The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow), the State Russian Museum (St. Petersburg), the Nizhny Novgorod State Art Museum (Nizhny Novgorod), and the Research Museum of the Russian Academy of Arts (St. Petersburg).
