“...Sveta Vickers is one of those characters without whom it is unthinkable to imagine the bohemian life of Moscow in the last quarter of a century. A party girl from God, an old friend of many artists, rock musicians (for example, Pyotr Mamonov) and people with less specific artistic pursuits, in the 1990s Mrs. Vickers became one of the founders of Moscow club culture. It was she who opened the famous Hermitage, which, in fact, was the first real Moscow dance club. Her works were first exhibited in 1988 at the legendary festival in the MELZ Palace of Culture, dedicated to the premiere of the film “Assa” and which became one of the first and loudest manifestations of contemporary art, together with rock music, triumphantly emerging from the underground. But Sveta Vickers herself, in fact, remained underground and never adapted to the current situation, when artists have become professionals.
