Winters Edgar Germanovich

Winters Edgar Germanovich (1919, Riga).

Graduated from the Riga State Commercial School. He received his professional education at the Latvian Academy of Arts (from 1940 to 1944). In 1949 he graduated from the pedagogical faculty of the art school named after. J. Rosenthal. He developed his own painting style at the Latvian Academy of Arts. Follower and adherent of the school of impressionism. For this reason, it was not recognized during Soviet times. In the 1990s, it gained wide popularity and fame in Europe. For ten years he exhibited at the Roy Miles Gallery in London. Paints landscapes in different seasons, flowers and floral arrangements. In the 1970s, city landscapes occupied a significant place in his work. He wrote a lot about the surroundings of Ulbroki, the banks of the Big and Small Jugla (a river in Latvia), as well as his garden. Several cycles of paintings were created. Participation in exhibitions since 1949. Personal in Riga (1969,1970,1971,1972,1974,1975,1976,1978,1979,1981,2000,2003,2006,2008). Personal in England (1992,1993,1994,1995,1996,1997,2001).
